Own Local Search With Your Google Business Profile

Own local search with your Google Business Profile

If customers find you locally, your Google Business Profile — the listing in Google Maps and the local "3-pack" — is the single most powerful thing you can manage yourself. It often drives more calls and visits than your website.

Your checklist

  • Claim and verify your listing at google.com/business.
  • Fill in every field — hours, phone, website, services, and a real description. Completeness helps you rank.
  • Choose the right primary category (e.g. "Emergency plumber," not just "Plumber") plus secondary categories.
  • Add photos regularly — profiles with fresh photos get far more views. Real photos beat stock every time.
  • Ask for reviews and reply to every one — good and bad. (See our reviews guides.)
  • Post updates — offers, news, events — to show Google you're active.

Spend a few minutes a week here. Consistency beats a one-time blast — and it's entirely in your hands.
