What Google Analytics Tells You
Google Analytics tracks how people interact with your website — how they get there, what they look at, and how long they stay. Your portal shows the most important metrics in an easy-to-read format.
Key Metrics
- Sessions — The total number of visits to your website. One person can have multiple sessions.
- Users — The number of unique visitors. This tells you how many different people visited your site.
- Pageviews — The total number of pages viewed. If one visitor looks at 5 pages, that counts as 5 pageviews.
- Bounce Rate — The percentage of visitors who left after viewing only one page. A lower bounce rate generally means visitors find your content engaging.
Traffic Sources
This section shows where your visitors come from. Common sources include organic search (Google), direct traffic (typing your URL), social media, and referral links from other websites. Understanding your top sources helps you know which marketing channels are working.
Top Pages
See which pages on your site get the most traffic. This is useful for understanding what content your audience values most. If an important page has low traffic, it may need better promotion or SEO.
Time Periods
Use the date filters to compare different time periods. Comparing this month to last month helps you spot trends and measure the impact of marketing efforts.
