Reply to reviews like a pro

Replying to reviews does double duty: it shows future customers you're engaged and professional, and it signals to Google that you're active — which helps your local ranking. Aim to reply to every review, good or bad.

Responding to good reviews

  • Thank them by name and mention a specific detail ("Glad we could get your AC running before the heat wave!").
  • Keep it warm and brief. Work in your service or town naturally — it's a small SEO bonus.

Responding to negative reviews

  • Stay calm and kind — future customers are really reading how you handle it.
  • Acknowledge, apologize for their experience, and offer to make it right offline ("Please call us at… so we can fix this").
  • Never argue or get defensive. A gracious reply to a bad review can win you more trust than the review costs you.

Set aside five minutes a week to catch up on replies. It's a small habit with an outsized payoff.
